Making an Impact

CAREI conducted a longitudinal evaluation of all-day kindergarten in a metro area school district in Minnesota.

Student learning, instructional aspects, social development, parent perceptions, and logistical concerns were examined as part of a four-year study. This data influenced the State of Minnesota to provide universal all-day kindergarten throughout the state.

With a rich 25-year history as an independent research center within the University of Minnesota’s College of Education and Human Development,

The Center for Applied Research and Educational Improvement conducts rigorous, unbiased evaluation of innovative practices and policies in education. During this time, CAREI has completed nearly 600 studies that have had an enormous impact on teaching and learning, not only in Minnesota but across the U.S.
