Early Reading First

About Early Reading First

CEED is providing overall project evaluation and research materials for Minneapolis Public Schools' Early Reading First (ERF) program.

Evaluation design emphasizes three primary objectives:

  1. Description of program implementation,

  2. Description of program outcomes at kindergarten entry, and

  3. Description of program impact as children advance into primary grades and become proficient readers.

Under the direction of Scott McConnell, Ph.D., Principal Investigator for this project, this work will provide the Early Reading First Centers of Educational Excellence with up-to-date scientifically-based reading research, in formats easily comprehended by classroom teachers, with suggested strategies for implementing the research into classroom activities and environments.
