Additional License in Science Education
This program is designed for teachers who hold a Minnesota license and want to add an additional license to expand their areas of expertise in their schools. Our courses are designed and taught by leading researchers. Knowing the quality of our curriculum and instruction, districts hire and retain our graduates because of their expertise and leadership.
Students can concentrate their coursework for state teaching licensure in one or more of the following licensure specialty areas:
- Chemistry (grades 9-12)
- Earth and space science ( grades 9-12)
- Life science (grades 9-12)
- Physics (9-12)
After you are admitted, you will receive a customized curriculum plan of courses to take to be recommended for licensure. This ensures you get maximum credit for previous academic work and work experiences.
- October 1 for Spring admission
- February 1 for Summer admission
- June 1 for Fall admission

To ensure you have the required pre-requisites to enter the program, please get your transcript pre-checked by the academic advisor before applying. A bachelor's degree and 2.80 GPA is required.
