Diversity and Social Justice
We are committed to promoting equity in teaching and education research. At the center of our commitment to reimagining education is our determination to build a more diverse community of students, faculty and staff. We strongly encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply to our programs and job openings. We offer programs, research opportunities and events that promote dialogues on diversity and social justice, including:
- The Teacher-Scholars of Color Program (TSoC) aimed at attracting and retaining a diverse teacher pool that more accurately reflects our society. Contact JB Mayo for more information.
- A working group for faculty and staff that includes monthly workshops that focus on action items for recruitment and issues of racial awareness and racial justice. Contact Vichet Chhuon and Tim Lensmire for more information.
- Diversity Dialogues, monthly discussions featuring an issue that addresses diversity and social justice in the classroom. For information on upcoming events, visit our Facebook page.
