The Melissa Sullivan Endowed Internship/Practicum with Children & Families
The Melissa Sullivan Endowed Internship/Practicum with Children &
Families has been established to honor Melissa Sullivan, a CSPP
student who graduated with the M.A. degree in 2001. She died
unexpectedly in December 2001. The Sullivan family established the
endowment in honor of Melissa and to encourage the training of
students to work with children and families. The student selected
will receive $10,000 during the 2008-2009 academic year.
Eligibility requirements
- Work in an internship/practicum site with children and
families during the 2008-2009 academic year
- CSPP M.A. or Ph.D. student
- Have a strong academic record
- Financial need is a secondary consideration.

Materials must be received by 4 p.m., Monday, March 3, 2008.
Please note: The CSPP Scholarship Committee will screen
these applications and identify up to five finalists. The finalists
will be asked to submit additional materials, including a letter of
recommendation, to the Melissa Sullivan
Fellowship Committee. That committee will determine the
scholarship recipient.
All materials are to be submitted in a manila envelope, marked
“Melissa Sullivan Fellowship,” and delivered to the Educational
Psychology office front desk in 250 Education Sciences Building.

Application for the Melissa Sullivan Fellowship
Please answer the following questions on ONE separate sheet of
paper.
- Describe your career aspirations and how the
internship/practicum might help you to achieve these
aspirations.
- Name the internship/practicum site you will be working at
during the 2008-2009 year. In addition, describe the types of
services offered and the types of clients served at this site.
- Do you expect to be employed (outside of the
internship/practicum site) during the 2008-2009 academic year?
If so, where will you be employed? How many hours will you work
per week?
- Describe your financial need/situation.
- Include your name, your degree program, date you entered the
program and your anticipated date of graduation.
Please return this application, a vita, and an unofficial copy of your graduate
transcript to 250 Education Sciences Building per instructions above.
