Faculty Surveys

Principal Investigator Survey (2007)

PI survey instruments were converted into Web-based forms and piloted to ensure accuracy and readability. The Web distribution system was tested and surveys were sent out to the PIs. The PI survey contained four sections.

  • Project overview – provides a broad description of the teacher certification programs offered at this site
  • Noyce money – explores what the money provided by the Noyce grant does and does not do, and the roles it plays in the program most scholars participate in
  • Program characteristics and organization – provides more details about the opportunities and requirements of the teacher certification program that most scholars participate in
  • Contacts and partners – this information was used for the STEM faculty surveys and the district interviews

STEM Faculty Survey (2007)

The survey is quite brief with only eight questions. The questions pertained to faculty opinion of their interaction with the Noyce program faculty and scholars, of STEM education as a career choice, and of the role the Noyce money might play in student career choices.
