  • EPSY 8905—History and Systems of Psychology: Landmark Issues in Educational Psychology
  • 3 semester credits in EPSY learning
  • 3 semester credits in EPSY social psychology or personality
  • 9 semester credits in research methods (plus a pre-dissertation project)
    • EPSY 8215—Advanced Research Methodologies in Education
    • EPsy 5244—Survey Design, Sampling, and Implementation
    • EPsy 5247—Qualitative Methods in Educational Psychology

Graduate School requirements

Minor or supporting/related fields (minimum 12 credits – check with your adviser for consultation/permission concerning this requirement):

You must complete a minimum of 12 credits of coursework outside the Educational Psychology department (if selecting a minor, check with intended minor department for credit and course requirements).

Dissertation

EPSY 8888—Thesis Credits: Doctoral, 24 credits (check with adviser)

Must be taken after successful completion of prelim oral.
 

Ph.D. minor in educational psychology with an emphasis in statistics education

A doctoral minor in educational psychology requires at least 15 credits of graduate-level courses in EPSY: all credits in psychological foundations, of which at least 9 credits must be 8000-level.

Required

EPSY 8261 and EPSY 8262 (3 credits each)

Two courses in statistics education: EPSY 5271 and EPSY 8271 (3 credits each)

One course in learning/cognition (3 credits)

Optional

EPSY 5272—Statistics Teaching Internship (3 cr.)
