Admission Criteria for Graduate Certificate

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Hold at least a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in a related area, such as child development, social work, or child psychology.
  • Have at least two years of experience in early childhood research or practice.

Admission and selection process

The admissions process differs depending on whether you're applying to take courses for graduate credit or for continuing education credits (CEUs). Either way, admission criteria are the same, and a committee of program leaders, faculty, and graduates makes admission decisions.

The committee bases its decisions on:

  • written application materials; and
  • core professional competencies in the field of infant and early childhood mental health.

The committee values diversity. It strives to admit a group of professionals representing different disciplines and backgrounds.
