Fu-Chen (Kidd) Chen graduated from China Medical University, with a BA in Physical Therapy, and an MA in Medical Science. He worked as a physical therapist at a special education center in Taiwan. His research interests are in motor interventions for children with disabilities. In addition, he is interested in the development of perception-action, and in research on Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD).
In November 2010, Kidd crossed the north Pacific aboard the R/V Thomas G. Thompson (from Seattle to Honolulu), conducting research relating postural activity to the performance of precision visual-manual tasks.
Dr. Chen completed his PhD in 2011 and remains in APAL as a post-doctoral associate. His dissertation research, relating postural sway to children with and without Developmental Coordination Disorder, has been published in Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology, and Research In Developmental Disabilities.
