Graduate assistant positions

(M.A./Ph.D. applicants only)

Each January the faculty in the School of Kinesiology evaluates the pool of applicants for graduate assistant positions for the following academic year (fall-spring). Most graduate assistant positions involve teaching, but some may involve administration or research. The number of positions available in any given year varies and is limited in number; thus competition is rigorous among those applying. In order to be considered for these positions, the Graduate School and the School of Kinesiology must each receive a graduate assistant application by January 15th. Note: Admission to the Graduate School is a prerequisite for the awarding of graduate assistantships.

Academic qualifications are addressed in the M.A./Ph.D. application. The application focuses on qualifications related to teaching physical activity and sport, teaching undergraduate majors courses in kinesiology and sport management, and research experience and skills.
