In the largest pilot of its kind at a major research university, the College of Education and Human Development began providing iPads to all CEHD freshmen in the fall 2010 semester. This mobile learning project is part of a focused research effort to discover how use of such a device can expand learning beyond the classroom, advance information literacy, and improve the sustainability of classrooms.
