Laurene Christensen
Laurene Christensen is a Research Fellow in the area of assessment accommodations for students with disabilities and English language learners. Ms. Christensen comes to NCEO with nearly fifteen years experience teaching English to speakers of other languages. Her teaching experience includes work in secondary, post-secondary, and adult education contexts; her students have ranged in age from ten to sixty-five. In addition to teaching English language courses, Ms. Christensen has also taught college composition, introductory linguistics, culture in the language classroom, and cross-cultural leadership.
Recent projects at NCEO include synthesizing state policies on assessment participation and accommodations. At NCEO, her interests are in policy analysis, adaptive technology accommodations, and leadership for system change with regard to accessible assessments.
