Sheryl Lazarus
Sheryl Lazarus, Ph.D., is a senior research associate at the National Center on Educational Outcomes. In this position she addresses policy issues related to the inclusion of students with disabilities in assessments used for accountability purposes. Her research and technical assistance priorities include: alternate assessments based on modified achievement standards, student participation, accommodations, technology-enhanced assessments, and growth models. She has expertise in large-scale assessments, school accountability, research design, data-driven decision-making, and the economics of education. Dr. Lazarus is the needs assessment and information gathering team leader at NCEO, and has a Minnesota K-12 principal’s license. Dr. Lazarus has published extensively, including papers in peer-reviewed journals in both the fields of education and economics.
