2015 Student Research Conference

Purpose

OLPD Fleece JacketsThe goal of the conference is to highlight both undergraduate and graduate student work related to the latest research findings, best practices, and theoretical/conceptual developments within our department while replicating what you will encounter in your professional association conferences. This conference is made possible through a donation from the Almond A. Clark Endowment Fund.

Keynote Speaker

Robert YawsonRobert M. Yawson is an Assistant Professor of Management at the Lender School of Business, Quinnipiac University. Robert has a BS in Chemistry and MPhil in Biochemistry, University of Ghana; Post Graduate Certificate in Food Management, Hebrew University of Jerusalem; MS in Science, Technology and Environmental Policy, Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs, University of Minnesota; and PhD in Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development, University of Minnesota. As a Research Analyst for the BioBusiness Alliance of Minnesota, Robert worked with a team of Consultants from Deloitte, LLC on the Destination 2025 project: a state-wide 20-year visioning initiative and road map to help give clarity to the nature and timing of investments that are needed for Minnesota to sustain a long-term competitive position in the biosciences industry. Robert co-authored the Food Industry and Animal Health Global Papers and also co-authored the States’ vision papers for the two industries. Robert is a member of several professional bodies and has participated and presented papers in over 30 international conferences. He has several academic publications including peer review papers in leading academic journals such as the R & D Management Journal, Human Resource Development Review, Journal of Consumer Policy, among several others. Robert serves on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Business and Systems Research and also the Track Chair of the Organizational Development and Change Track of the 2015 AHRD Conference in the Americas. He was recently named as the 2014/15 Faculty Scholar for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning by the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning at Quinnipiac University. His current research is on using the "wicked problem construct" for leading organizational development and change; and also using systems approach to human resource development for emerging technologies. Robert lives with his wife and two sons in Wallingford, CT.
