Felly is a Ph.D. candidate in higher education. His research interest focuses on international cooperation and partnerships between universities in Southern Africa and foreign institutions and organizations. He is a graduate research assistant in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, Development, and is assisting Professor Melissa Anderson with her NIH research project on international research collaborations. Felly is also an administrative fellow in the Graduate School, where he is working on the University of Minnesota’s Ph.D. Completion Project.

Kathryn’s research focuses on women's leadership in liberal arts colleges, college students’ identity development, students’ experiences in and motivations for community engagement, the persistence of college student friendships, and the opportunities and challenges of interdisciplinary initiatives. In addition to being a research assistant in PERI, she also works as editorial assistant for Feminist Formations, a triennial peer-reviewed journal which publishes interdisciplinary and multicultural feminist scholarship linking theory, activism, and education. Prior to coming to the University of Minnesota, Kathryn worked in the office of Enrollment, Planning, and Public Affairs at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University.

Kristi is a doctoral candidate within higher education whose areas of study include: study abroad, internationalization of higher education, financial literacy and student indebtedness, and leadership. She is currently a 3M Fellow designing a retention program for students entering the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. In addition, she is working with other PERI colleagues on the Minnesota Tuning Project. Before coming to the University of Minnesota, Kristi managed study abroad programs and developed intercultural initiatives at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University.

Christine’s research interests focus on issues of gender and women in higher education, both at the faculty and administrative level. In addition to being a research assistant in PERI, she is employed part-time as the Special Projects Coordinator for the G.R. Herberger College of Business at St. Cloud State University. Her previous experience includes seven years of human resources experience in both public and private sectors, in addition to experience in university finance and budgeting. She has also co-taught a masters-level course on human resource issues in higher education administration.

Thomas’ research examines how colleges’ and universities’ interaction with their external environments informs their behavior. Utilizing a twenty-year longitudinal period, his dissertation examines the impact of prestige on the quality of undergraduate education and institutions’ resource dependency. His research has been highlighted by the Chronicle of Higher Education, and was recently selected as one of AERA Division J’s emerging scholars. In addition to serving as a graduate research assistant, Thomas currently works with first-year student athletes as a graduate teaching assistant with the Department of Postsecondary Teaching and Learning. Previously, he has also served as a graduate fellow with the Center for Academic Health Programs.

Prior to attending the University of Minnesota, Krista served as an admission adviser, TRiO adviser, and academic adviser. She also teaches via distance education as an adjunct faculty at the University of Alaska Anchorage and has experience teaching study skills, first-year seminars, composition, technical writing, and business communication to undergraduate students and advising courses to graduate students. Her research interests include: the culture of higher education; the benefits of service-learning and community engagement for students, staff, faculty, and communities; academic advising and career development; retention among underrepresented populations; distance education pedagogies; and the experiences of first-generation and underprepared college students.

Kelly's research interests are in the social contexts of higher education access and equity policies and the intersections of critical and feminist theories, qualitative inquiry and the study of education. In addition to her research with PERI, Kelly is also a graduate assistant for the Office of the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost where she works on number of initiatives related to distributed education and instructional technology. Before coming to the University of Minnesota, she served as an instructor in the CORE curriculum department at St. Catherine University and has professional experience in writing center leadership, admissions, academic advising, and student records.
