John Lapointe

Design Engineer, US Water Services.

John Lapointe, Design Engineer for U.S. Water Services, discussed both his work at U.S. Water Services and his volunteer work in Haiti implementing safe drinking water systems. Lapointe was recently awarded Rotary International's Service Above Self Award for his work in Haiti. Lapointe helped students understand that it was his professional experience that made his service to Rotary effective.  As Lapointe put it, “Not every young adult can set out to change the world immediately after graduating from college.  But every graduate can set out on a profession, learn a skill set, and obtain knowledge/experience that could be used at some point in time to make this world a better place to live.”
