The College English Transitions course options are similar to those for all college freshmen in the College of Education and Human Development. All students in this program are required to take a First Year Inquiry course (PsTL 1525W) during fall semester and a Learning Community in spring semester. In addition, CET students will take a two-semester sequence of freshman composition, an editing for writers course (PsTL 1051) and an oral communication course (PsTL 1461). Students may also choose from other courses such as biology (PsTL 1131), psychology (PsTL 1281), sociology (PsTL 1211), and literature (PsTL 1366 or 1368). Students enrolling in biology and psychology may take supplemental Integrated Learning courses with other TRiO students.
In CET, the University’s two-semester freshman composition courses (WRIT 1201 and 1301) are taught by experienced and accomplished instructors of multilingual students. The CET academic experience is enhanced through small class sizes and tutors in writing classes.
