Welcome to the College English Transitions program

College English Transitions (CET) is a two-semester sequence of courses at the University of Minnesota offered to freshmen for whom English is not their first language. Through a curriculum of credit-bearing courses, students work on academic English while taking standard courses (speech, biology, freshman composition, literature, etc.) typical of a freshman student.  The program builds support in the way of reading adjunct courses, small class size, special advising, and an instructional staff with expertise in teaching English as second language learners.
