Calendar and Milestones

Product Availability

CBAS-R will be ready for limited distribution on a pilot basis by fall 2007. The product will be distributed on a less limited basis in the fall of 2008. Districts, schools and agencies should contact Dr. Christ tchrist@umn.edu with questions.

Dissemination of Findings

Reports will be published online as the project progress through the fall of 2008. The content of some reports and other relevant findings will be prepared and submitted of publication through 2010.

Management: Time of Activities and Anticipated Outcomes

Timeline.

This project will be completed over a period of 24 months. In the first three months, activities will accomplish the Start-up Objectives: establish CBAS webpage, recruitment, human subjects, administrative procedures for the grant, and purchase necessary equipment for start-up. In the first eight months of the project (1/06 – 8/06), activities will accomplish. Objective 1: Develop the supporting materials to define the targets of measurement, a priori skills hierarchy, and construct items that will comprise the CBAS for early reading development. In the next 10 months of the project (8/06 – 6/07), activities will accomplish. Objective 2: Develop the supporting materials for the Computer Adaptive Test (CAT) component of the CBAS. In the final six months of the project (6/07 – 12/07), activities will accomplish. Objective 3: Develop supporting materials for the Adaptive Self Referenced Test (ASRT) component of the CBAS. Throughout the course of project, the CBAS technology will develop in stages to meet the final objective. Sequential development of CBAS technology will achieve the successive components that comprise objective 4. Objective 4: CBAS with CAT and ASRT components with utility for screening, leveling, skill analysis, progress monitoring, evaluating responsiveness to intervention, and examining developmental trends in reading. This is the primary objective defining the final CBAS product.

Milestones.

The project will be completed in 24 months. Milestones are identified that correspond with one start-up Objective along with Objectives 1 through 4. Progress will be systematically reviewed and evaluated by the both the Project Director and Advisory Board for the purpose of input, process, and outcome evaluations (see [d2.ii] Management: Continuous Feedback and Program Evaluation). Successful start-up will be established when the project accomplishes

Summary of Timeline, Activities, Responsibilities, Outcomes.

The timeline, objectives, and milestone are coordinated with persons responsible and contributors to each activity and objective in Table 3. Objectives 1, 2, and 3 establish the development, psychometric foundation, and technical merits of the CBAS. Objective 4 establishes the actual CBAS technology. To improve clarity and concision, the timeline of Objective 4 is integrated with Objectives 1, 2, and 3 within Table 3 (below).
