Barbara F. Brandt, Ph.D.
Dr. Brandt is the director of the NEXUS: National Center for Inter-professional Practice and Education (nexusipe.org) at the University of Minnesota. The mother of a social worker, she is an astute observer of our health care system and evolving models of interprofessional practice. She will reprise her speech from the 2016 Council on Social Work Education conference that offered lots to think about for social workers in health care and those seeking to prepare them for these roles.
A panel of community experts will comment on Dr. Brandt’s remarks, and help us engage in a lively dialogue about the future of social work practice in health care in our state:
- Melanie Heu, LICSW, LADC, Former Clinical Director, Pangea Care Behavioral Health Services
- Nora Wallin, M.S.W., LGSW, Supervisor-Medical Social Worker, Essentia Health, St. Mary’s Medical Center
- Stacy S. Remke, LICSW, ACHP-SW, Senior Teaching Specialist at the University of Minnesota School of Social Work, Board Member of the Social Workers in Hospice and Palliative Care Network
