Current Research
- "Patterns of Adaptation and Acceptance of Hispanics in American Communities." This project explores social, economic, and cultural factors facilitating the adaptation of Hispanics in the United States as well as levels of acceptance of Hispanics by members of their new communities.
- "Linkages Among Family, School, and Community and the Role of Social Workers in Rural Minnesota." This project involves the study of collaboration among social institutions and the analysis of functions and professionalism of social workers.
- "Social System Performance and Development." Research is being conducted with Dr. Fransisco Parra-Luna, University Complutense of Madrid, Spain, and other members of the RG51 of the International Sociological Association.
- "Study of Risk and Resilience of Youth in Out-of-home Placement." Study is being conducted with Ronald Pitzer, Susan Meyers, and county collaboratives of Minnesota Extension and Social Services.
- "Latin American Political Economy: Trends of Change and Development Problems." This project explores organizational issues affecting social development in Latin America. This study of MERCOSUR allows observing new mechanisms which may enhance regional integration and development.
