New Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development
Effective July 1, 2009, a new department has been created that integrates the business and marketing education, human resource development and adult education, and comprehensive WHRE programs from the Department of Work and Human Resource Education (WHRE) into the department formerly known as Educational Policy and Administration (EdPA). The name of this new department is Organizational Leadership, Policy and Development (OLPD). It will offer exciting opportunities for collaboration and interdisciplinary education and research. Click here for details.

 

International Field Study in HRD - Summer 2009

Ireland shoreDr. Catherine Twohig and Dr. Rosemarie Park will lead participants for a week of study and travel in Ireland.
There will be a required orientation class session in Spring 2009 and a follow-up session in late Summer 2009.

Travel Dates:

Saturday, June 13, 2009: Depart from Minneapolis
Saturday, June 20, 2009: Return to Minneapolis

The costs are approximated between $1200 and $1400 and will be dependent upon the total number of participants. Costs include lodging, ground transportation in Ireland, breakfasts, two dinners, HRD site visits, cultural events and more. Air travel and tuition/fees for HRD 5496 are separate costs.

There has been great interest in this year’s program, and there are a limited number of openings. Make your reservation with Dr. Twohig to join this group NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 24, 2009.

There is also an opportunity to earn Directed Study credit in WHRE 5990 by attending the European Academy of Human Resources conference in Newcastle, England. This conference occurs the week prior to the Ireland course. For information about that course, contact Dr. Rosemarie Park at parkx002@umn.edu.
