How do others describe you?

My social work supervisor describes me as hard working, energetic, accountable, thoughtful, positive, passionate, and funny. Who am I to argue with her? :)

What is a good book you would recommend to others?

The Latehomecomer by Kao Kalia Yang and The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.

What gets you excited about work?

Chaperoning college tours, planning career exploration events, working with great people, the positive impact of mentoring on youth, working to close the achievement gap, seeing young people achieve success, students getting accepted to college and earning scholarships.

What is a fun fact about you?

I know all of the U.S. Presidents' names in order and can sing them in a song that I learned in fifth grade. I've had to make up my own tune for the more recent Presidents.

What was the impact and benefit of your experience in CEHD?

Having previously worked with youth and families in a non-social work setting, the MSW program offered exposure to the social work field. From my fellow students, I learned about many local social service agencies and I had the opportunity to experience two internships, one of which later turned into a job. Overall, my MSW program was a great opportunity for personal growth and reflection, and a solid starting point from which to begin a macro practice social work career.
