CEHD Career Services is dedicated to partnering with faculty, staff, and departments to empower students in realizing and reaching their career goals.
We seek to increase communication across our college regarding the importance of career development for our students and alumni.
Refer a Student
CEHD Career Services welcomes student referrals from CEHD faculty and staff. We provide services to CEHD students in all stages of their career development and at every academic level from their first year through graduate school. CEHD Career Services is here to assist your students with major/career exploration and decision-making, experiential learning opportunities, and the job search process.
If you are working with a student who can benefit from career counseling and/or our services encourage them to take advantage of the following:

If you would like to consult with a career counselor or further discuss the career resources available to your students, please call CEHD Career Services at 612-624-7577.
Classroom Presentations
Career Services staff will present to your class on a wide variety of career-related topics at times arranged for you and your students’ convenience. Please submit your request at least three weeks before the desired presentation date to ensure we can accommodate your request.

Employer Connections
We work to connect CEHD students with employers and experiences that fit their career goals.
If employers contact you about posting internship or employment positions for CEHD students, please have them email the position to hirecehd@umn.edu and we will connect with the employer to post the position on GoldPASS. If your employer contacts are interested in being connected with CEHD Career Services or have specific questions, please contact our employer relations coordinator at hirecehd@umn.edu.
Ethical Concerns
As a staff or faculty member, you may have employers that contact you to request the names of quality students. For information on legal ramifications of direct referrals to employers, visit the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) article entitled "Faculty guide to ethical and legal standards in student hiring."
To ensure compliance with the University of Minnesota’s Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action Policies, direct employers to GoldPASS to make certain all qualified students are aware of employment opportunities.
Student References
Students will approach staff and faculty to act as references as they apply for employment opportunities.
