Career Services
Career Services provides a range of services for students. All students are encouraged to read their website and make use of the many services they offer.
Experiences during the undergraduate years
Students are encouraged to seek opportunities to work with elementary age children during their undergraduate years through paid or volunteer jobs such as camp counseling, before- and after-school programs, and tutoring as well as nannying and babysitting. Exploratory, Transition, and Career Services sends an electronic newsletter noting many such opportunities.
After graduation
Most students go directly into the initial licensure program, but some decide to pursue other options. The elementary education foundations major prepares you to work with elementary age children in settings that do not require a license.
Students who choose to pursue options other than licensure are encouraged to make an appointment with Career Services for advice on identifying options and applying for jobs.
