Marriage and Family Therapy
Education.
Council on Social Work Education
Our master of social
work degree is accredited by the
Council on Social Work Education.
Minnesota Board of School
Administrators
School administrative licensure
(superintendent, principal, director of special
education, director of community education) received
accreditation through the
Minnesota
Board of School Administrators.

NCATE and Minnesota Board of Teaching
The College of Education and Human Development at the University of
Minnesota is accredited by the
National Council for
Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE), 2010 Massachusetts
Ave., NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC 20036; phone 202-466-7496.
This accreditation covers
initial
teacher preparation programs and
advanced educator
preparation programs. NCATE is recognized by the U.S. Department
of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to
accredit programs for the preparation of teachers and other
professional school personnel.

Institutional Report to NCATE and the Minnesota Board of
Teaching (BOT). Accreditations from the Council for Exceptional
Children and the Council on Education of the Deaf are obtained
during the NCATE/BOT process.
College-level memberships
The college faculty and staff are actively engaged in several
professional organizations that are directly related to P-12
education, teacher education and development, school administration,
counseling and school psychology. Specific college-level membership
is held in the following organizations:
American Association of Colleges for
Teacher Education (AACTE),
Council of Great City Schools,
Council of Academic Deans
from Research Education Institution (CADREI),
American Association of Universities
(AAU), and Minnesota
Association of Colleges for Teacher Preparation (MACTE).

University of Minnesota
accreditation
The four
University of Minnesota campuses are accredited separately at the
institutional level by the Higher Learning Commission of the North
Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
The accreditation review of the Twin Cities campus completed by
the Higher Learning Commission resulted in high marks for the
campus. The Twin Cities campus will be granted full accreditation
through 2015-16, with no follow-up reports or visits in the interim.
