Admitted Transfer Students

Congratulations on your admission to the College of Education and Human Development!

Be sure to read all of your admissions material carefully and complete the necessary steps in order to be prepared for your first semester.

Orientation

For students transferring to CEHD from:

Within the U of M Twin Cities

Sign up for and attend orientation.

At your orientation you will receive valuable information about your major, future registration, and CEHD requirements. You will also get a chance to meet your new advisers and have any questions answered.

Orientation will be held in November for spring enrollment, and in April for fall enrollment.

You will receive detailed information on your mandatory orientation session with your acceptance email including the date, time, and location, as well as instructions on how to sign up for a session. You will not be able to register until you attend an orientation session.

Other U of M Campuses (Duluth, Crookston, Morris, or Rochester)

  1. Complete the pre-orientation survey.
  2. Complete the online orientation, beginning May 1.
  3.  If you will transferring credits toward your major, review the course transfer process.
  4. Attend an in-person CEHD orientation
    At this session, you will receive valuable information about your major, get a chance to meet your new advisers, and have any questions answered. You will also be registering for classes at this time.

    This orientation session is held in January for spring enrollment, and in mid-summer for fall enrollment. A make-up orientation will be held in late summer for students who are unable to attend their scheduled orientation. You will receive dates and other orientation information with your acceptance materials.
  5. After orientation you are encouraged to stay for additional sessions about University of Minnesota resources.

Outside the U of M

  1. Review your admission materials carefully and:
