Advises for Undergraduate Programs in:
My name is Anna Mraz and I am an undergraduate adviser in the College of Education and Human Development. I advise for undergraduates in the Kinesiology major as well as the Recreation, Park and Leisure Studies major, and I also advise undecided students. I grew up in Minneapolis and I have over 10 years of experience in student services including work as an academic adviser, career counselor, admissions coordinator and instructor. In addition to advising, I also teach a career planning course through the College of Biological Sciences at the U of MN.
My own educational background includes an undergraduate degree in History and French from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and a M.A. degree in Counseling and Student Personnel Psychology from the University of Minnesota. I am fortunate to have studied abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France for a year as an undergraduate and I have a special interest in promoting international educational experiences with my advisees.
I am thankful every day to have the job that I have. I work with students where they are, and I strive to connect with them so that we may work together towards their goals. I find tremendous joy and satisfaction in working with students throughout their college career as I get to help students find their passions, develop their strengths and discover their place in the world. I feel so fortunate to work at the University of Minnesota!
Outside of my work as an academic adviser, I am mom to two young, energetic and delightful boys. You will often find me taking advantage of any opportunity to bask in the sun - on a sunny patio, poolside or on the beach, at a park or in my yard! I also love running, spending time with my wonderful friends, and finding new ways to enjoy Minneapolis.
I look forward to working with you!
