Use of digital camera

Introducing the digital camera

The OLYMPUS D-450 Zoom Digital Camera (D-450 Zoom) can shoot non-stop, without pausing between shots, just like a traditional film camera but without sacrificing the convenience and quality you need.

As easy to use as pointing and shooting, the D-450 Zoom does not just let you take pictures rapidly, it lets you take great quality pictures. With an optical 3X glass spherical zoom lens, 2x digital telephoto, pop-up 5-mode variable flash, and a resolution of 1.3 million mega pixels, it is packed with all the features you need to make sure you will always get the shot you want. And with the D-450's new, brighter and easier to view LCD screen, you can see your pictures as soon as you take them—even in bright light or from an angle. The LCD also displays pictures in a 4, 9 or 16 image index or allows magnification up to 3x, for inspecting all the details. That is, if you want to stop shooting long enough to look.

How to use the digital camera

The D-450 Zoom comes with Adobe PhotoDeluxe™ image manipulation and creation software, Enroute QuickStitch panorama stitching software, Olympus Camedia Master software (for downloading images from the camera), and instruction manuals. All software supports both Windows (95/98/NT 4.0) and Macintosh (OS 7.6.x and greater) systems, and is year 2000-compliant.

Using the imaging software that comes standard with the D-450 Zoom, you can:

  • Print, view, and email your photos to family and friends.
  • Create sweeping panoramas by “stitching together” individual photographs.
  • Crop, retouch, and manipulate photos on your computer.
  • Create cards, catalogs, calendars, screen savers, slide shows and more with simple on-screen instructions.

Other advantages of the D-450 Zoom:

  • Real-time rapid shooting mode - just focus, compose, and shoot without waiting between shots at all resolutions.
  • Burst mode shooting at all resolutions with speeds up to two pictures per second.
  • 8MB Olympus SmartMedia™ removable memory card included, storing up to 122 images.
  • Download images quickly through the included serial cable (RS-232), or use the optional FlashPath Floppy Disk adapter or PCMCIA card.
  • Use optional 8, 16, and 32 MB 3.3 volt Olympus SmartMedia cards for exposure lock, panorama "stitching" function and fast write times.

* You can learn many more convenient options to use the D-450 Zoom if you refer to the Manual of the Olympus D-450 Zoom Digital Camera at 330 Wulling Hall.
