Grants and awards
Kyla Wahlstrom along with Karen Seashore recently received a $3.5 million grant
which will look at the effect of the principal of student achievement. The grant
will be carried out nationally over a five year period.
Karen Seashore, along with Lisa Jones and Melissa Anderson received a $200,000
grant to study the dilemmas that academic scientists face.
Presentations
Ann Werner gave a presentation on traditional
and asynchronous online advisory groups at the annual UCEA convention in Portland,
November 8.
Scott McLeod is currently presenting across Minnesota on how schools can use
data-driven decision making in the context of No Child Left Behind. Scott also gave
five presentations at the annual UCEA convention on school technology and leadership.
Jean King presented the Minnesota Evaluation
Studies Institute in Rochester this October.

Don E. Lifto and J. Bradford Senden (2004): A Comprehensive
Planning Model for Success. American Association of School Administrators &
Scarecrow Education.
Don Lifto completed his Ph.D. in educational policy and administration at
the University of Minnesota in 1995 and has served as a public school superintendent
for 23 years and is currently superintendent at Northeast Metro 916 Intermediate
District in White Bear Lake, MN.
The book is based on his research at the University of Minnesota and 20 years
of research and examination of best practices in this arena will be available
in May 2004.
