Administrative licensure Rochester cohort
The University of Minnesota's program for licensure and leadership development
of educational administrators offers administrative licensure classes on the Rochester
campus.
While the program offers preparation for licensure as a superintendent,
director of community education, and director of special education, the emphasis
of the Rochester cohort is licensure as a K-12 principal.
The Administrative Licensure program offers courses specifically
designed for the various licenses as well as core classes applicable to all licensure
areas, most of which are offered in Rochester. The Principalship overview class
is offered in Rochester at least once each year.
In addition to holding many of the core courses on the Rochester
campus, the program offers convenient class by ITV and online. Although current
online offerings are limited, more online courses will be scheduled in the upcoming
semesters, and by spring semester, 2005, a section of the school law class will
be taught completely online. Currently the technology-related courses and components
of the superintendent overview class are being taught online.
