American Sign Language

American Sign Language is a natural, visual, non-spoken language used by
Deaf people in North America. ASL has its own distinct grammatical
structure and unique vocabulary. The shape, movement, and location of
the hands, facial expressions and body are used to communicate. ASL is
not based on English.
