There are various assistantships offered in psychological foundations of education and quantitative methods in education (QME). Assistantships are competitive and the number of positions each year is limited. First year students will be considered for research assistantship depending on availability of positions and funding. First year students may be considered for teaching assistantships based on previous coursework experience, but many positions cannot be considered until courses have been taken in the program. A background in statistics, computers and/or teaching is often helpful.
Psych foundations/QME assistantships are generally 25% positions (summer appointments will vary). All appointments are contingent on available funding.
