INFORMATION & RECRUITMENT SESSION

Be a part of something big. Become a Literacy Tutor or Math Enrichment Tutor.

Minnesota Reading Corps and Math Corps are AmeriCorps programs that are helping ensure that all Minnesota youth are on track to read by the end of third grade and algebra ready by eighth grade. Learn more at www.MinnesotaReadingCorps.org and www.MinnesotaMathCorps.org.

As a Literacy or Math Enrichment Tutor, you will provide the extra support many children need to become successful. Competing for teaching jobs can be difficult, and serving for a year is a great way to network in the school system, find direction, and build your teaching style and resume. Full-time members receive health care coverage, loan deferment, a stipend and an education award of $5,350. We also have part-time positions.

You would serve daily in an elementary school, preschool, middle or junior high school. Locations are statewide, including St. Paul, Minneapolis, metro suburbs, St. Cloud, Duluth, Mankato and many rural locations.

What would you do?K-3 tutors meet with children one on one, and Pre-K tutors are embedded in a classroom. Math tutors work in small groups of 4th – 8th graders. We will provide training in research-based methods to make you as effective as possible.

Jump-start your career! Apply online. Positions for the 2011-12 program year begin next August. Contact Anna with questions at apeters@mnedc.org or 1-866-859-2825.
