Two-day Training: Pre-K Observation Training Wednesday, January 21, 2015 | 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

University of Minnesota St. Paul Student Center

The CLASS™ is a multifaceted observation system that requires training to use it appropriately. This two-day in-person training offered by certified CLASS™ trainers covers the instrument and provides opportunities to score video segments in preparation for the online reliability testing. Additionally, participants must complete 3-4 hours of pre-training exercises and readings and schedule one half day to complete the reliability testing after the training. Passing the online test is necessary to become a reliable CLASS™ observer. Those interested in training others to become reliable observers must attend a Train-the-Trainer session offered via Teachstone.

CEED offers the Pre-K and K-3 versions of this training and, coming in 2014, the Toddler version will also be offered.

This training is only available in Minnesota for the purpose of building partnerships for CLASS™ observations and coaching in Parent Aware, Minnesota's Quality Rating and Improvement System.
