Community education director

Not all teaching and learning occurs in a classroom. People who work in community settings are often involved in non-formal educational situations with program participants, community members, volunteers, youth, and the general public. The licensure program for community education directors can help you prepare to take a leadership role in this exciting area of education.

Program highlights

Convenient course times: Courses are offered throughout the year with evening courses offered during fall, spring, and summer semesters, and day courses offered during summer semester.

Program length: On average students complete the program in just three to six semesters. Most students in the program are practicing teachers.

Additional qualifications: A unique feature of the certificate with licensure program is the option of adding additional certificates, degrees, and licenses for few additional credits, as the core licensure courses apply to multiple options. See the Only At The U matrix [.pdf].
