Early childhood education

This program offers an integrated approach to early childhood development and early childhood special education, providing you with professional preparation that significantly increases your marketability. Early childhood education graduates can work in a number of different settings, including schools, mental health clinics, and childcare centers.

Program highlights

Interdisciplinary study: Program coursework includes classes from the college's Institute of Child Development, Department of Educational Psychology, and Department of Curriculum and Instruction.

National recognition: The Institute of Child Development is consistently ranked third nationally by U.S. News & World Report among graduate school programs in developmental psychology.

Research center: The college is home to both the Shirley G. Moore Lab School and the Center for Early Education and Development. In addition the University houses the Consortium for Children, Youth, and Families.
