Family social science
The family social science program provides undergraduate, master's, and
doctoral level education dealing with all aspects of family life in
the U.S. and elsewhere.
This multidisciplinary program is a good match for students
interested in helping people, developing counseling skills, and
understanding human relationships across the lifespan.

Degree options:
The Department of Family
Social Science offers B.S., M.A., Ph.D. degree options, and
prepares licensed family and consumer sciences (FACS) teachers and
parent educators, as well as marriage and family therapists.
Hands-on experience with a global perspective:
Undergraduate and graduate students in the program have participated
in internships in the Congo, Mexico, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Kenya,
England, Ireland, Australia, Ghana, Denmark, and India.
Research opportunities: The program offers research
opportunities for undergraduates, such as studying welfare changes
and rural low-income families.
