Family, youth, and community
Family, youth, and community (FYC) is a newly formed field of study
in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. The FYC program allows
students to create holistic educational experiences related to their
interests in families, youth, and communities.
Family educators, researchers, youth workers, teachers,
organizational heads, administrators, and community leaders will find
multiple avenues in FYC for pursuing graduate-level study and research.

The Department of Curriculum and Instruction is
consistently ranked as one of the top twenty departments of its kind
in the country.
Specialization options:
Students in the program can specialize in
family,
youth,
community, or a
combination of two or three areas.
State leadership: Minnesota is recognized as a leader in
family education with its statewide, legislatively supported Early
Childhood Family Education (ECFE) programs, offering parent education
for families with young children through local school districts.
