Special education director

Students in the program explore leadership and problem-solving approaches that are grounded in research and applied in a variety of educational, cultural, and recreational settings with a primary focus on special needs infants, children, and adults and their families. The licensure program for special education directors can help you prepare to take a senior role in this exciting area of education.

Program highlights

Convenient course times: Courses are offered throughout the year with evening courses offered during fall, spring, and summer semesters, and day courses offered during summer semester.

Program length: On average students complete the program in just three to six semesters. Most students in the program are practicing teachers.

Additional qualifications: A unique feature of the certificate with licensure program is the option of adding additional certificates, degrees, and licenses for few additional credits, as the core licensure courses apply to multiple options. See the Only At The U matrix [.pdf].
