Talent development and gifted education

Although many Minnesota schools offer programs in gifted and talented education, very few have teachers with specific preparation in the field. This certificate prepares educators to develop, implement, and supervise programs for gifted and talented students in educational settings.

Program highlights

Broad education: This program prepares individuals to encourage and develop human talents across multiple arenas of academic, artistic, athletic (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor skills), and other human skills.

Professional development: The program’s length (only 12 credits of required coursework) makes it an ideal professional development opportunity for teachers, administrators, and other professionals who work with gifted and talented youth.
