Coaching

Do you enjoy working with youth? Do you have a strong interest in one or more sports? A coaching certificate can be an attractive enhancement to your résumé, adding to your marketability and income as a K-12 teacher.

This program prepares you to coach at the interscholastic and youth levels and allows you to study with some of the premier educators in physical education and sport in the state.

Program highlights

Research centers: The program is offered by the School of Kinesiology, home to the Laboratory of Physiological Health and Exercise Science (LPHES) and the Tucker Center for Research on Girls and Women in Sport.

Varsity coaching prep: The program is designed to exceed requirements for K-12 head varsity coaches.

Range of sports: Students can explore coaching theory and skill development in a variety of sports, including football, gymnastics, ice hockey, and lacrosse.
