Community and learning
Not all teaching and learning occurs in a classroom. People who
work in community settings are often involved in non-formal
educational situations with program participants, community members,
volunteers, youth, and the general public.
The community and learning program is designed to give
individuals involved in community life a framework for the kind of
teaching and learning that occurs outside of the classroom. Students
learn about the history of education in community settings and
traditions of democratic education for everyday teaching and
learning situations.
