Language immersion education

This program is for educators interested in teaching in dual language and immersion programs. Dual language and immersion programs are geared toward developing bilingualism and biliteracy by using non-English languages to teach at least half of the school subjects during the elementary school years.

Program highlights

Part-time schedule: Practicing educators will be able to finish the coursework required for the certificate within two to four years, taking classes part-time.

Flexibility: The program may be completed independently or as part of an M.Ed., M.A., or Ph.D. program.

Access to cutting-edge research: The college is home to the Center for Advanced Research on Language Acquisition, which supports a number of programs related to second language teaching, learning, and assessment.
