I’m a freshman in the College of Education and Human Development. I’m planning on being a kinesiology major and then going on to graduate school in physical therapy. I chose my major because I’ve always been fascinated by the human body and sport injuries and kinesiology seemed like a perfect fit. I hope to spend a semester abroad in England or Scotland. I love living in Territorial Hall! It’s an all freshman dorm so it’s a great place to make friends because everyone is new here. The U is a great place to go to school because we’re so close to downtown, but far enough away to feel safe. There are always things going on around campus. I love CEHD because it’s a smaller college at a large university and creates a sense of community in your classes.

I come from a small town in northern Wisconsin. I have four younger brothers and love every minute of it! Some of my pastimes include: babysitting, playing French horn, watching the Brewers, shopping, and trying out different restaurants in Minneapolis. I chose the U of M because being from a small town, I have always dreamed of living in a big city! When I took a tour of the campus, I fell in love with it and imagined it becoming my new home. The U also has many opportunities and resources I knew I could take advantage of. There are also many neat places around campus such as Dinkytown and Stadium Village! I chose the business and marketing education major because I have always dreamed of going to school to pursue business. After doing some self-exploring as well as discussing it with my friends and family, I knew the major would be the perfect fit. I also plan on minoring in leadership and human resource development so overall it is a great fit.
Some of my most rewarding experiences have happened within the college! CEHD has some amazing resources such as the math and writing center, and the CEHD Career Services center. I encourage all students to get involved. I am involved in Women in Business, and a leadership group called STLF (Students Today, Leaders Forever). In addition I am involved in Big Brothers, Big Sisters, which is such an exciting thing to do! All of the things I am involved in help develop my leadership abilities and career exploration and development.
