Department of Family Social Science

Grantsmanship

The Department of Family Social Science is committed to excellence in research and community outreach, dealing with issues affecting families in all stages of the life cycle, in multiple settings, and in diverse cultural contexts.

Faculty members are active grant writers, and have received funding from federal sponsors such as the National Institutes of Health, Administration for Children and Families, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. Private foundation funders include the W.T. Grant Foundation, the McKnight Foundation, the National Foundation for Financial Education, and many Minnesota foundations.

The CEHD Office of Research and Policy provides faculty members with assistance in finding funding opportunities, developing grantseeking strategies, preparing proposals, and meeting University of Minnesota research compliance standards.
