Family Orientation
Our projects are grounded in Family Centered Care, specifically the intimacy and inter-dependency of family life. Before families can even begin to decipher the journey of dementia, living with the disease and navigating through the illness, a foundation for informational and emotional education must be developed.
This is a multi-family group psycho-educational program spanning four weeks. The aim is to orient all family members to the nature of dementing illness, and organize family members towards responding to the daily challenges of family life posed by the illness. This program begins as a training ground to refocus family members toward long-term planning together.
