Online Education

Each week educational materials are presented in the Saturday morning community in McNeal Hall, on the St. Paul campus in our Collaborative Learning Community. To make these conversations and education sessions more widely available, in 2006 WCFCC began to produce a series of podcasts (audio and video). The focus of these podcasts is day-to-day issues and insights experienced by caregivers and persons living with dementia.

Families continually identify the strengths of providing new opportunities for long distance caregivers to learn about the illness. Participants comment that they may not be able to attend regular education sessions that occur in their community, and they are "stuck at home". We see this online format as an emerging need that we can easily address.

As we prepare for 2009, we will reinvigorate our effort to begin redeveloping our presence in the virtual education community.

The offerings we have available at this time are:

The Family Journey - Caron's Phases

Family Centered Care

What are Behavior Problems with Dementia?

Managing Behavior "Problems"

Person Centered Care and Dementia Care

Carmen's Corner
