The Great Family Social Science
Tuesday, November 1, 2016
Reception - 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Hilton Hotel, Symphony Ballroom III
On Tuesday, November 1, FSOS hosted the Great Family Social Science Get Together at the Hilton Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. Roughly 140 people attended the event, including FSOS alumni, faculty, emeriti faculty, current students, and many other friends of the department. Dean Jean Quam, Serena Wright, and Noriko Gamblin were also in attendance, and all three addressed the audience with messages consisting of a common theme of the uniqueness of CEHD and the support found within the college across departments. Many of the alumni who attended are now deans or faculty members at universities spread across the country, and this event allowed everyone to reconnect with people they hadn't seen in ages, and make new connections with some of the leaders in the field of family science. More than anything, the Great Family Social Science Get Together was a glowing example of the support and camaraderie that makes CEHD such a special college in the university.
Thank you to everyone who made the event a success!
