Women’s Philanthropic Leadership Circle

a new model for giving

While every woman is powerful in her own right, women working together can be an even greater force for change—in their workplaces, in their communities, and in the world.

The Women’s Philanthropic Leadership Circle (WPLC) was founded to engage interest in philanthropy and channel it into initiatives that support women’s leadership in education and human development. Our mission is to create a welcoming circle of women that combines our resources to support and develop women leaders and philanthropists through the College of Education and Human Development.

As a Circle member, you’ll be able to:

Collaborate with a community of women in making a difference for other women.
Participate in quarterly educational programs for women covering finances, investment, philanthropy, and other topics of interest in a respectful and risk-free environment.
Create a living and permanent legacy.
Celebrate the impact of your philanthropy with others.

How the Circle works

Members decide annually, as a group, where to direct the donated funds within the college. The Circle uses its financial resources to provide educational scholarships and opportunities and to raise the visibility of women leaders in education and human development

You may join WPLC at a number of different levels

Gold: $3,000 paid over three years. Annual renewal of $1,000 will be encouraged when the three-year period is complete.

Maroon: $1,500 paid over three years. Annual renewal of $500 will be encouraged when the three-year period is complete.

Lifetime: Life-to-date contributions, pledges, or planned gifts to WPLC Fund 1243 that equal or exceed $10,000.

Gifts are tax-deductible and can be made with check, credit card, University of Minnesota payroll deduction, or through the transfer of appreciated securities.
